During her years at Terrell High School, Wilson competed in volleyball, basketball, and track. In 1994, Wilson earned a spot at the state track meet where she won the high jump competition, making her the first ever Terrell Tiger to win first place in a state track event. As a volleyball player, Wilson lead the team in kills, was named MVP, Offensive Play of the Year, and 1st Team All District. She led the Lady Tigers basketball team and the district in scoring and rebounds, was titled Offensive Player of the Year, and MVP. Wilson went on to earn a full scholarship to play basketball at The University of Texas-San Antonio where she led her team in scoring, rebounding, and set the program record for single-season blocked shots.
Wilson graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sociology from The University of Texas-San Antonio in 2000, and earned a master's degree in Social Work at The University of Texas-Arlington in May of 2015. Wilson coached basketball for two years at Collin College in Plano, TX, and spent six years coaching basketball at The University of Texas-Pan America in Edinburg, TX. Since then, Wilson has worked at Mountain View College in Dallas, TX where she helps high school, first-generation, and low-income students prepare for college.
Wilson will be inducted into the Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, October 23. Wilson, along with all previously inducted members of the Hall of Fame, will be recognized during a pre-game ceremony at the Terrell vs. Royse City football game. Congratulations Keelah Wilson!
