Carrero-Diaz, who holds a Master of Arts in ESL from Greensboro College, began her 21-year tenure as an educator as an elementary teacher in Colegio Panamericano, Colombia. She began working in the United States in 2002 as an ESL teacher for Lockhard Elementary School in North Carolina before taking a role as a Bilingual teacher at Garland ISD’s Davis Elementary School in 2005. She has also served as the Gifted and Talented Curriculum Writer and Bilingual Education Instructional Support Teacher for Garland ISD.
Carrero-Diaz shared that she places a deep value in relationships, and looks forward to building relationships with the students, families, and staff members of J.W. Long Elementary.
“I am thrilled about serving and joining a community that values tradition and has a reputation of putting kids first,” said Carrero-Diaz. “The emphasis Terrell ISD places on building relationships with students strongly resonated with me.”
Carrero-Diaz will begin her role with Terrell ISD on July 1, 2019. Congratulations Mrs. Carrero-Diaz, and welcome to the Tiger Family.
