“We are thrilled to have Mr. Chris Turner join the Terrell ISD leadership team to serve as principal at Furlough Middle School, said Dr. Georgeanne Warnock, Terrell ISD Superintendent. “He brings a wealth of experience, positive energy, and a heart for students.”
Turner holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Grambling State University, a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Lamar University, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Abilene Christian University. He began his work in education in 2003 with Garland ISD as a math teacher and coach for O’Banion Middle School. He went on to serve as the Math Facilitator and Assistant Principal for Garland ISD before taking on his role as Assistant Principal for McKinney ISD.
“Mr. Turner brings a wealth of experience to TISD,” shared Dr. Melanie Magee, Deputy Superintendent of Leading and Learning. “His relentless focus on the equity of opportunities for students ensures that all students experience high expectations and outcomes.”
Turner will replace former Herman Furlough Jr. Middle School Principal, Brenda Navaja, who has transitioned into the role of Executive Director of Leading and Learning. He looks forward to joining the FMS Assistant Principals, Mallory Malouf, Matthew Love, and Sarah Petelik for the 2020-2021 school year.
"I am overly excited to join the Terrell ISD family,” said Turner. “I look forward to serving the District and community with passion and providing equitable opportunities for all students to achieve at the highest levels."
Welcome to the Terrell Tiger family, Mr. Turner!
