Sedberry started his football coaching career over 19 years ago, 12 of which were spent as a head football coach. He led Naaman Forest to three consecutive playoff appearances in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Sedberry’s team finished the 2016 season ranked number one in defense in the DFW metroplex, number three in defense in 2017, and number ten in defense in 2018.
“Coach Sedberry has a proven track record of success in Texas high school football and developing young men on and off the field,” said TISD Superintendent Micheal French. “We are excited to welcome him to the Terrell Tiger family.”
Buster Leaf, Terrell High School Athletic Director, expressed his excitement for the program as he presented Coach Sedberry to the Board of Trustees yesterday afternoon.
“Coach Sedberry has turned around programs everywhere he has been,” said Leaf. He has been at programs that have struggled with participation numbers and he has increased that everywhere he has been.”
Sedberry, who will begin his new role on Thursday, May 2, says he is first and foremost excited to be a Terrell Tiger.
“I look forward to the opportunity to build something across all levels, beginning in elementary school all the way through middle and high school,” Sedberry said. “I want to create excitement about being a Tiger at every age.”
“I want to bring passion, energy, and be a role model,” continued Sedberry. “We are going to have pride, we are going to have class, and we are going to do it the right way.”
Welcome to the Terrell Tiger family, Coach Sedberry!
