The FMS Science Department arranged the onsite exhibit in order to ensure all students had the opportunity to enjoy and learn from the program.
“Bringing the exhibit to our campus was great because we did not want cost to prohibit any student from participating,” said science teacher Alexis Slade. “Kids were thoroughly entertained by the exhibit, and they received valuable information in physics that goes along with curriculum they will be learning later this year.”
Students were eager to participate in the demonstrations, and left the exhibit with a renewed interest and appreciation for science.
“It was a very educational experience and something all of us students could relate to,” comments Furlough Middle School student Lissete Macedo.
Eighth grade class president, Adrian Williams added, “I learned that we are creating new things right now to make our world a better place.”
At the conclusion of the event, the Perot Museum educators encouraged students to visit the museum with their families to explore their student summer and volunteer programs. On behalf of TISD, thank you to the Perot Museum for engaging our students in this one-of-a-kind learning experience.
