Duke TIP’s Seventh Grade Talent Search identifies students across the United States who have scored at or above the 95th percentile on a grade-level standardized test. As part of the program, these academically talented students take above-level college-entrance exams to learn more about their abilities. Duke TIP then hosts annual recognition ceremonies to honor the seventh graders who scored the highest on these ACT or SAT exams.
Ory, who also qualified for the All Region Band earlier in the school year, continues to impress his teachers and his principal.
"What a well rounded student John Harris Ory has become this year. His outstanding performance in the classroom and the band hall has truly set him apart from his peers," FMS Principal Jay Thompson shared.
Ory plans to retake the SAT each year, aiming to improve his scores each time.
Congratulations on this impressive accomplishment, John Harris!
