Terrell got on the scoreboard in the first inning when Aryn Hernandez singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. The Lady Tigers put up three runs in the fourth inning. Paige Paulson, Aryn Hernandez, and Rebekah Gosnell each racked up multiple hits for Terrell during the game, with Paulson leading the team with three hits at three at-bats. Brooklyn Thompson, who surrendered six runs on seven hits, pitched the Lady Tigers to victory.
Glenn Banker, head coach of the Lady Tigers, commended his players for their consistent dedication to their sport and their teammates.
“The young ladies of the Terrell High School softball team are some of the most dedicated athletes I have had the pleasure of coaching,” Banker said. Their willingness to accept coaching and ability to come together as a team is evidence of their desire to excel. I am very proud of this group.”
The Lady Tigers will play the Joshua Owls in the Bi-District playoffs this Thursday and Friday. The first game will be held in Terrell on Thursday, April 25 at 6:00 p.m., and the second and third games will be played in Joshua on Friday, April 26 beginning at 5:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the gate for $5.00 for adults, and $3.00 for students.
