“Mrs. Wooten will be an incredible addition to our leadership team,” said Dr. Georgeanne Warnock, Terrell ISD Superintendent. “We were impressed with her previous work as an instructional coach and campus administrator, and we look forward to welcoming her back to the Terrell Tiger family.”
Wooten, who is a proud 2006 graduate of Terrell High School, holds a Master of Educational Leadership from the University of Texas Permian Basin and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arkansas. Wooten began her career in education in 2013 as a seventh and eighth grade science teacher at Agnew Middle School in Mesquite ISD. She transitioned from the classroom in 2018 where she accepted a role as an instructional coach for middle school science. Following one year in her role as a coach, Wooten was offered and accepted an assistant principal role for Floyd Elementary, where she currently serves.
“While it has been a privilege to work for Mesquite ISD, there is nothing quite like returning to the district that I call home,” shared Wooten. “Although my work has taken me out of the District, I have remained committed to and passionate about the students and families of Terrell ISD. I am excited to join an incredible team at J.W. Long Elementary and continue to serve our students and families with excellence.”
Wooten is married to fellow Terrell High School graduate Dustin Wooten, and together they have two daughters: Harper who is a first-grade student in Terrell ISD, and Lillian who will enter kindergarten next year.
Congratulations Mrs. Wooten and welcome back to the Terrell Tiger family!
