“The Raise Your Hand Texas Foundation is inspired by your plan to put students at the center of learning for your district and looks forward to working in partnership with you over this three-year initiative,” stated a congratulatory email sent by Raise Your Hand Texas.
Terrell ISD was also the recipient of a $125,000 TEA Blended Learning Grant in November 2019. Together the funds from these grants will enable the District to provide training, support, and technology needed to personalize learning for students.
The Raise your Hand Texas Website describes blended learning as combining the best of in-person classroom teaching with online technology so teachers can use data to personalize instruction and students gain more ownership over their learning.
“We are thrilled to be one of 20 districts in Texas to be selected for this incredible opportunity,” shared Dr. Georgeanne Warnock, Terrell ISD Superintendent. “TISD will have the chance to partner with great experts from Raise Your Hand Texas to build our student's early literacy through blended learning. We are looking forward to the journey and continuing excellence in Terrell ISD.”
