“I am very excited to see the continued growth of the Terrell ISD band program under the leadership of Mr. Trevor Kay,” said John Young, TISD Director of Fine Arts. “I have been an admirer of his band programs and have nothing but confidence in his abilities as a music educator. He has a proven track record of success with multiple UIL Sweepstakes awards and participation in the UIL State Marching Contest in San Antonio."
Kay holds a Bachelor of Music education from Texas Tech University, where he graduated Cum Laude, and is currently pursuing his Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas. Kay began his career in education in 2009 as the Assistant Band Director at Elgin High School. He went on to serve as the Associate Director of Bands at Centennial High School and the Associate Director of Bands at Newman Smith High School.
“I am thrilled to be joining the amazing Terrell ISD team,” shared Kay. “Great things are in store for this District and I am thankful for the opportunity to be a small part of it.”
Kay, who will begin his new role at TISD on June 1, was a member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, Dallas Civic Wind Ensemble, Carrollton Wind Symphony, and the Texas Tech University Symphonic Wind Ensemble. Welcome to the Tiger Family, Mr. Kay.
